Grofbothen Dec 6th 1942

Dear Gerhard,

Thank you for your birthday letter, he got her later but that does not matter. Yes we finished the Grain trashing, and the Christmas parcels are on the way. I hope you will get them. There is not much to buy this yesr, that’s why I send you this letter, and hope you like it .

Winter is coming now and I suppose out there in Russia it is already winter. Here we had a bit of snow but its gone again. I hope that is the last

Christmas in this war, so next we are all together at home again.

Heartfelt Greetings from your Brother

Hellmut, your Parents and Traude

Comradship Greetings and best Christmas wishes your Max Ziegner

From: Hellmuth Heller, GroSbothen Saxony

To: Gerhard Heller, FP # 21406 = Grenadier Regt 515

Letter for unknown reasons was returned to his younger Brother but Gerhard Heller from Großbothen is not listed as missing or killed in Action. ° Grenadier Regt 515 was part of the 294" Infantry Division and in the winter of 1942-43 fought along the Don River Front to hold open the Corridor to Stalingrad until the city was surrounded in Nov 1942.
