Dear Artur.
Thank you for the letter and card that I got today. I am well and I hope that you are ok. You said that you have not heard from me for a long while, I am sorry about that but we are in Combat and there is not every day an
opportunity to get to my packs and search for the writing paper and pen. Our Packs are on trucks always miles behind us, Dear Artur, we are no win a rest area, six weeks we have been marching and fighting, this is the first time we rest and we deserve it. Now we have to mend our worn out gear, how far is the harvest gone at home? I had thought to be home for the harvest but it was a lost hope. Let us hope it wont take long now for the war to end, Greetings to you all and to Werner in Weimar.
