Dear Parents and Werner>
Monday evening now and I send you greetings from here. I hope you got home ok from your trip , did Werner met you at the station? I had a long run ahead of me to get back into camp on time. I had missed the last Tram so I had to run, I took my belt off and 4 minutes before taps I reported to the Sgt. But I was ok, one guy was late and had jumped the fence to get into camp, he ended up with 48 Hours in Prison and 2 weeks no pass out of camp. So it is better to be in camp on time. Today I was on duty again, I am getting better at it now, last night it did not freeze. You must be working in the sugar beet field now. I can not get a pass for next Sunday because on Monday we have big inspection. We have heard there be no Christmas and New Year furlough. The mood is somber of course. But I will write every second day, so for now I close , write soon hope to see you again soon .
Your Artur Greetings to Maria.
