In the Field on November 16th 1944.

My dear Parents.

Greetings from here, hope all is well at home as I am too. I am sending you a green parcel stamp, I only have one, as I told you in a previous letter, we are staying in a house with civilians now, I even help out here, today I chopped fire wood. My furlough was nice, and I am sure when I come next time, the war is over, it wont be long now. Did you harvest the sugar beet and how is the wheat growing? I had hoped for a short harvest furlough but I could not get any. I will close for now and hope for a reunion very soon.
