Dear All!
I must write to you again now as I am sitting not by the table but but on the flat earth in a small tent. During the day we are here in a camp near a village and we are in transit 3 days now. We are 100 Kilometers east of a city , we march at night and rest in day time. Everything is camouflaged in day time. It is hard work for the Horses too, pulling the heavy guns through the sandy soil. The same road is taken by the rest of the Division and we covered in dust from the white soil. Best thing is we don’t march in the hot sun, all our wagons and trucks are fully loaded. The Horses are grazing here in daytime. In 2 hours from now we move out again. Today I had a letter from you again . The mail was given to me by a Motorcycle messenger and I thank you very much. 1 parcel with cake was included . It was very tasy, , my good wooden box I had fell of the truck and was totally wrecked , it fell of going through a pothole and the oats fell of too. I will close now a nad sleep a few hours before we start again towards the east. It is a terrible area here, only hamlets and villages .
Greetings Heinrich
