Dear Comrade Günther!.

Thank you very much for your letter from May 13th and I am glad that you have thought of me. But I can understand and I am not angry , I am in the same position, I want to write every day but never have the time doing it. It is amazing what one has to do in a Hospital, and our Doctor is the only one around. We got a good job at present, the whole hospital, staff and patients will have to get a shot against Cholera. That means 3 injections up to June 14th. Soon we will be on our way to the eastern Front too. All our gear will be collected and it already looks very urgent. The Doctor is 34 years old and he knows his business he is from a Reserve unit, as a worker he is great. Often I think back to our old Doctor, what he use to do is unknown here. Always in good mood, never ceased to work, and a first class Comrade too. I have not even thought of writing to the old place, I have not a good memory of them, the only good one was Ullmann at the time. He was the one who gave me a first class testimonial. That was the only good service. I have heard from your mother that you are out in the west. I heard from the Company that you are somewhere on the channel coast in Holland. I hope you look forward to laying in the sun on the coast, especially you, after all the fighting in the east, you deserved it. A typical vacation by the sea in the summer. We soon will get to know the Soviet “Paradise” too, who knows what our job will be there. But one thing I have sworn myself and that I have promised your Parents, in the event that we all get through this war, we will have a reunion celebration. Maybe we can even celebrate your wedding too. I hear your parents are satisfied with the choice of your future wife. Yes, you Mother told me abut the death of Mutscher , that is sad, I always say, the best men get killed , always. Yes, 1° Lt Zibilinski suppose to be a good Company Commander, and I was surprised to hear he will let Ullmann go now. So now many thanks for your greetings and from all the Comrades, and to you Dear Günther, all the Soldiers Luck. Furlough is not in , I was home last Christmas but I am satisfied if you write to me.

That will be the end today, stay well, greetings to your Parents ,

Your Comrade Helmut
