Dear Parents.

Today is the 2 and the terrible murder has began and hardly have time to eat and write , fo us eraly on Sunday morning at 3.30 it started for us. I am writing now during the short rest while the horses are eating. The shells are howling above me and some explode quite near me. But thank God the air is clear of enemy planes. Our own fighters clearing the sky of the enemy. There is a lot of good news to report from our Wehrmacht, If you hear the news on the Radio, remember we already many Kilometers into enemy country and follow our progress on a map. We already had few men wounded, especially from Red Soldier sharpshooters hiding in trees and houses. They fired often from the Forest with Machine Guns on us. You can imagine how hard and bluntly we have to be against them especially ifa Comrade gets killed on a horse. Let us hope for good weather here so the war is over soon. Once again we change our positions and I have to end.

Your Heinrich.
