Dear Vati.

Today we got your parcel, and I have never seen such big oranges, Grandma came Sunday night at 10.30 and we were already in bed, she also brought an orange. Yesterday it snowed a lot. Traude said that she will wear the straw shoes and please, please can you send me a pair. Grandma sends greetings, I go to Altmutt in the morning , Gerhard bought me a cup in Grimma, with motorbike on it and diary to write in. I hope you come home soon on furlough , that would be a great joke?

Heartfelt Greetings from Helmut.
