Großbothen Dec.25™ 1941

Dear Gerhard!

Thank you for your card, I was happy to hear from you, I will write to you my Christmas presents now. A Pocket knife, a writing book with pen, a math book for school, the 2™ edition of the Soldiers Song Book, Traude got the 1st Edition, then I had Saw blades, a pair of socks, a Jungvolk sports shirt that formerly belonged to Robert Rebner, and from Ppap I had 2 sheets of play wood, two bars of Chocolate ,a Fountain pen, a nice game in a box called “ The victory run of the Swastika “ , I was dressed up as Father Christmas, so I could hit Papa and Traude because they did not want to pray.

To Mama I gave her a Window cleaning Brush and for Papa I had a sickle. Last night we had a storm, but not enough snow to ski, just a bit that soon melted. Today it snowed again then the stupid sun came out and it stopped snowing.

Heartfelt Greetings Hellmut.
