Dear Parents.

It is 6 PM and we got back half an hour ago. We did some field training and watched another Battery firing live rounds. They did manage a few good results and for us it was very entertaining . We are due in the Mess hall in a minute to get our supper I have to admit that it is a good life here with the Soldiers. 30 men from our Battery will move to Cracow in Poland tomorrow. So how are you all at home? Is Grand dad satisfied that I am in the Artillery? The Drivers have more to do than us, we have to work with our heads more. Grand dad how are our 3 horses doing? Do you feed little Molli enough next time I am on furlough he will have grown a lot. Make sure the others get enough hay and oats . Dear Mother. Make some cake or cookies for me please and send it to me. Also some sandpaper , a Butter tin and we have to have the tin

according to regulations. Next Sunday we hope for the firsr pass to go into town. We must be back by 9 PM. That is all for now.

Heinrich.
