Dear Parents !

Sunday afternoon now and plenty of work on, I just washed my overalls and it is out in the sun to dry. I also washed my cap, my hankies and socks. These I have put on the radiator to dry. I oiled my Rifle the wood with preserver, and cleaned the barrel. But I have to admit, I could do with a lot of cleaning cloths. These I need for the Rifle and the Artillery piece. Please send me some. I just had Coffee and 2 days ago I run out of Butter I need at least half a pound of Butter per week here. Also I like to have cookies or cake for Sundays , a few apples, some sausage, Sausage in cans, some preserve, or jelly I need more time to eat on Sundays, today we had an inspection of our uniform and I had to bring mine to the Ironing Room. Punishment for rule infractions are dished out daily. I just avoided mine so I was lucky today. This week many will be transferred , all names the men who are the only child at home, were taken down. What now will happen to us we have to wait and see. I am glad to see you get on with the work and the Tractor is going again. That is all for now and sendind fresh Greetings Heinrich.
