K.d.F. Stadt ( Volkswagen City) May 25th 44. Dear Parents and Grand Dad !

A quick letter just before Whitsun and I am at this moment on guard again .Every few hours I have to do a round with 2 Comrades around the Factory and the Compound of the workers .A few times I had to shoot through the windows or threw stones , because these people do not black out the windows at times. There are 20 men on constant guard around the Factory but it is not a good job. It is cold and stormy at times doing the rounds. There is no chance for furlough at Whitsun, others cant go home the same, as they liked too. Otherwise I am well, so I wish you a happy Whitsun the war does not look to bad in Italy I wished I knew what will happen this year. Wishing you a Merry Whitsun holiday ,

Heinrich.
