Dear All at Home !

I bet you are anxious to hear from me and wanted to know where I am now, but sorry, I can not tell you an address as yet because we don’t know , where we end up eventually. Tomorrow we will be on a train again . We have marched 150 KM with full gear through the Carpathian Mountains . But I marched only one day, I had a certificate from the Dr that gave me a seat on the truck and my Company probably will arrive tomorrow. The Romanians are a Gipsy Nation, In Hungary it was better. The grain is growing very good here. What a bad time, no workers here, we hear no News , the Soldiers themselves give the latest news along the lines to know what is going on in the war at the other fronts. From one man to the next, the latest news are given and each one puts a bit at it and by the time it reaches the 10th man , we know it is a fairy tale. If only we would be home next winter and not fighting the Russians , if we eliminate the British and Americans, we could concentrate against the Russians and beat them. Let us hope that we see each other soon.

Greetings Heinrich
