Dear Beloved All !

I opened the parcel that I got today and read the long letter, and there are nice surprises to unpack. Dear Mother, you never forget anything. It is Tuesday night and I just been for a hair cut, and bring a few lines to paper. Last Sunday I went with Bade to Gottingen . Before one is permitted to leave the camp, one has to go through an inspection . The field training is nice but I do not like the indoor training much. But who worries? Not me. The group of friends in the room is getting smaller, Willa and another Comrade said good bye to day and will be transferred to the Storm Artillery , a brand new weapon and called also Assault Guns,. The Unit is trained in Magdeburg so we all will be transferred one day. Maybe next time it is my turn. There are only 6 of us left now in the room, , everyone is writing home, or an application for weekend furlough. Except me, I have not made my mind up yet what to do. If I get furlough for Christmas, maybe not for New Year, and I would like you to visit me on a coming Saturday afternoon. There is a Hotel in Weende you could stay overnight. I can get a Sunday free and we can have a day together Maybe one day I get furlough for home. If you do decide to come, please get me a small suitcase in Oldendorf that I can have for my things. Also I need hankies, 2 pair of socks , a pullover and Mother bake a cake and we can eat it on the Sunday. Nothing else I can tell you, make sure Mother you get better, feed the Horses, Cows and Pigs , renew the kitchen floor as well, and get the floor tiles glued back. Greetings to all especially Father Mother and Grand dad.

Heinrich.
