Dear Parents and Werner!
Quick a few short words to you Greetings and hope all is well at home. This morning at last I had mail and parcels again. Parcels # 61 to 64 and letter # 32 from June 18th, a card from Werner too, a letter from Ketschau’s in Udestedt and a birthday card from Artur Dornberger. Thank you all for my Birthday Congratulations. You asked how I celebrate my birthday, ? Sorry I cant remember, I never even thought of it, There are other things to worry about. But I hope that it will be a good day. I see that you are finish with the clover at home, and got them into the hay loft. OOPs, sorry, I had to stop writing here for a while, the Russians just send us a “ Good Morning, Artillery Greeting” over and I had to dive with my face down into the mud. Now its over and I can continue writing. I can understand that you had not much clover, there was not much last year. Werner wrote that there is more grass for hay this year. What does he do in the fields? How is your weather? Here we have one thunderstorm after another and everything is turning into mud.
That is all for now, write soon, and I send you Greetings and hope to see you one day.
Your Artur.
