Dear Parents.

Today came a letter from you and the 20 Marks I got from the Mail Office too. Also I got your 5 marks that were in the letter. I am still shattered by the behavior of the 1* Lt who last night tore up 8 furlough passes who he had signed a few hours earlier. There will not be any furlough nor Sunday Passes now. I met Werner Abling here , he is in a camp only down a few Kilometers from us. He gave me the enclosed photo from France. My suit case and all my private things I will mail home. My Congratulations go to Grand Dads 79th Birthday . By next week you can send another parcel with sausage , also a few sheets of sand paper. I wont be able to help with your spring work so you better get on without me. For now farewell, all the best from

Your Son Heinrich
