In the East May 26th 1944

Dear Parents.

Greetings here from the East. Today we have reached our destination and we got into a terrible downpour, we are in a city bit I don’t know the name of it. I hope you had the cards I mailed from transit. I would never have thought that I would land in Russia too. But we can not do anything about it. I am writing the letter by candle light.

I am well, and hope you too,

Greetings and hope to see you again.

Your Werner

Greetings to all,

We have not an address yet.

Letter is from Werner Ketschau on a train to the front

Pay slip dated July 7th 1942 from Artur Ketschau sending home 90 Marks from FP # 21 764 = Panzer Grenadier Regt 112
