She has not mentioned her engagement in it. I have send my congratulations. Aunt Lauern wrote me that you have a new horse, I am glad about that, even if it is not proper trained yet to pull anything. What will happen now , or later? Will the Wehrmacht take it of us again. Let us hope the war is over soon, we all expect things to be over this year. Have you still got chickens, I build a small chick house here, we got 3 little chicks and rooster. We also had a laying chicken and a grown up rooster but when she stopped laying eggs, we ate them. The PX supplied us with cigarettes again, and 4 packs of tobacco. 90 Cigarettes and 6 cigars. don’t send me any now. Maybe a bit cigarette paper. My Sgt went out last week and brought me some. Did you get the pigs that you saw in Erfurt? Pigs are expensive now. Helmut Siegmund is now in the Army too and is in the north were there is a big battle going on. I wonder why Edwin is not with us, I hope Tagboth stays were he is, he is not very much wanted here. The Cinema projector to show us a movie, has not come yet, we have no car and have to fetch things by horse drawn cart. Here it is raining every day, yesterday we had company party, a new bridge was opened to traffic that our company had build recently. We had coffee and cakes and roast veal in the evening. Our butchers has slaughtered 2 heifers for the occaision. That be all for now, how is the Clover growing on the Hill at home?
