Dear Brother and Sister in Law.
A few words I am sending for Christmas, and how are you? Hope all is well same as here. I am in the south east and where I am the fighting is not very heavy. Then we have less trouble with the Bandits and Partisans in the winter time then in summer. It is not very cold here, there has been no frost yet, only on the high mountain passes , a cold wind is blowing. It almost turns the truck over. Down in the valleys it is nice and warm. We are more or less in the center of Greece and for the first time we have a roof over our heads. Up to now, I use to sleep in the truck, I lived in it so to speak, but one can not stretch out on the seats. But we get used to anything in this war. Have you got the watch back that I send you for repair?
How is Marlies? I bet she is growing now, it’s time for me to see for furlough again but right now there is no chance. What else is new at home? Now I wish you all the very best,
Greetings for Christmas and New Year, your Brother and Brother in law
Hermann.
