Dear beloved Christel.

I just now got your letter and I am surprised to hear that you are in bed sick. Did this come about from the cold that you had?, or something else made you ill? My dear Child, I am so sorry and I feel for you but right now I can do nothing for you, I would love to help. I wrote in my letter from yesterday why I had not written for so long. I am very busy with work, and I am now with the Command Staff Section and stay for 5 months to improve my position.

Dear Christel, stay in bed as long as you can until you completely have recovered. Make sure there is no reverse in your illness. I would love to come and see you , you know I love you, and so I am wishing you a full recovery. You ask why I did not write, well, I was out of Berlin for 2 weeks and where I was I am not allowed to say because it is top secret. I shall, not go back to the fighting front, I am sitting here in Berlin with my section, a very nice position, and waiting for the things that will eventually come.

From now on I can write you again on a regular basis so please don’t be angry that I close now. I'am very tired.

Wishing you my love a Good Night.

Greetings and Kisses your Waldfried
