Dec 27th 1944

Dear Olga.

Here I am answering your letter from Dec 14th that I got on Christmas Eve. Thank you very much for it. Christmas came and went and Christmas eve I was invited to the house of a local farmer. We stayed there until Christmas day and left very reluctantly as we had been made very welcome. It had felt like I was at home with them, and they treated me very well. But I am getting nearer home now, near Pirmasens. Well do not worry, the enemies wont come nearer to you, the picture on the western front looks very promising for us now, let us hope it stays like that. More details will come in soon.

Was Fritz home for Christmas or is he coming for New Year? He might be home on furlough, the weather here is nice but cold. But much better compared to Russia. For now I am sending you all the best wishes

Your Brother Eugen

Hope you are all happy and had a good New Year. Next year we will celebrate at home.
