Dear Heinz!

Thank you for the letter , it is my turn to write now , I had not done so for a long time, but today it is Sunday and its raining as much as it can. I had a letter from Irma too,she is still sick,, Dear Heinz we know each other long enough so we can do without all the formalities and one day we will see each other I hope. My Husband was here 6 weeks ago on furlough and time has gone fast, and we hope that it soon starts with England, so we get peace in this world. I am so fed up to have all the work by myself, now the Memorial times are coming, more work for us, and I am glad when Christmas is over and I can go home for a while and have some rest. I have lifted the potatoes and had a lot of plums to harvest 6 cwt I had but I still have a lot to dig yet. On Sunday I see if I can get 3 Polish Prisoners to help here. The weather is not good, there will be snow soon but I hope it comes a nice spell. But we can not make the weather. Now that you are in France, you still have things ahead of you, the fighting is going on but once England has fallen , there will be piece and we hope that you are all come home in good health. Elli is gone too, she had 14 days here, it was a nice time with the little Luise. Elli is lucky, her husband is at home but we are satisfied despite the hard times and we have to get through them. With my best Greetings. .

Marianne.
