Dear Parents and Grand Dad !

This morning I got 2 long letters and I am glad to read that you are all well in good health. Also I ma glad you manage the farm work so good. So you had a good fruit year and filled the cellar up? You filled all the Preserving Jars and got 50 Bottles of Cider. I can imagine how it looks in the cellar now. I know I can not have any of it right now but when I come on furlough it is there for the taking. Father, you seem to be doing a good job with the tractor, but don’t over load it, maybe you also have to check on the Motor Oil now. I am glad to hear you are buying a electric cooker too. I had thought about it before and now you are getting one. An washing machine with a electric wringer would also be nice. Today I mailed 100 Marks to help you along, let me know when it gets there. How is the Green Fodder and Clover doing? When will you start mowing? Do you get plenty of milk from the cows?

Tomorrow we on a long hike trough the Ukraine

Greetings to all of you

Your son Heinrich
