Russia Dec 9th 1941
Dear All at home !
Quick a few words as I am back on the front line again, and you can not imagine what is going on here . The enemy planes have attacked us so many times now, that we will probably taken out the front, and it could mean another Feldpost Number for me. That would be ahold up in all my mail. The Russians deploy now American made Bombers that are more terrifying than their own made. I am well, and by God’s Grace, I am still alive just keep on praying and more praying so I will see you all again one day. Any Comrade that get home to a Hospital with a leg or arm wound is happy to get away from here. We don’t see any of our own Luftwaffe anymore, we all wonder where they are. Don’t believe the luke warm reports on the news at home, the gruesome reality is far worst than you can imagine. Celebrate Christmas without me, so I send Greetings
Heinrich.
