Dear All back Home !

This morning I arrived back with my Battery and you can not imagine the cold outside, All Base Hospitals are full to

overflowing with soldiers suffering from frost bite. I too have frost bite, the finger tips, one ear, the nose and a cheek . They have bandaged it nowi hope it will be alright. Dear Parents, you can fall on your knees and pray for me, and that a change soon will come in the war. We all want to see home again but nobody will return 100% in good health ever. Yesterday a Comrade from me was found frozen to death. If I had ear muffs, Mitten Gloves and a felt cap, I would have been ok plus a 2™ coat but it seems, we expendable and they let us freeze to death. Yesterday I got the parcel thank you very much , but send me a Cigarette lighter or matches and new socks Sausage and Beet Syrup. Cabbage with bacon sounds delicious to me I could do with some Apples and Pudding powder again. Please look after the Horses well, because they might need all the horses at the front in spring. | will close now because the mail man is coming with my best wishes for the New Year Heinrich
