Dear Parents and Grand Dad !
Today at long last mail arrived again and I got the letter you wrote on Christmas day. And 3 weeks ago I had one from Jan 1st the mail is unpredictable here the rest will soon arriving too I hope. I am well, and you wrote that Ludwig is in Hospital in Stalino, that is 70 Kilometers from me, and there is no way I can visit him. And so far, nobody had any furlough yet. Beginning of February I mailed 120 Marks I hope you had that. How is it with the Land at the slope you was telling me about> Did you sell it, and how much did you get for it. Dear Father, I hope you get enough fertilizer in spring, and how are the chains for the tractor wheels, are they ok in icy weather? Have you started work on the Flower Garden? Don’t forget the pathways and flower beds ornaments. That is all , for now your
