Dear Heinrich !

Time to write a letter again to you, but I wonder what you are going through these days, the Radio says about the southern front where the Russians broke through, and just there where you are. My thought are going to you, Its hope that God will protect you and you stay alive. I wonder how hot it is there, here to we had 32 C . We hope that you are in good health like we are. Father has been on the tractor all morning and was out in the fields. Yesterday we cut the oats and today we work in the beans. The beans are quite long and good and maybe it was the warm spring that did it. Tomorrow we harvest the 10 acres from the Meadow Field. But this morning was a thunderstorm and it rained so hard, that we will leave it for another day. We cut the field 8 days ago. There is nothing we can dio to change the weather Our Binder has a few moods, the tractor hardly stops, father has replaced a few things on it, These parts are new and were never used. Last night a lot of planes crossed over, probably on the way to Berlin, So far we had no proper alerts. Wilhem Freise has just been here, and he said, that there will be something coming from us, that world has not seen yet. And there must be something in it, or is it all lies? Just this Minute the Radio mentiones the Southern Front I wonder where you are. There is no news from here to tell you , the village is so quiet, nobody is out on the road. All we see are the Poles and Russians working. We are told that soon we will be able to get coal again Father was given a permit for it. Father is gone out to look at the oat fied, to see how wet it is. I just bottled to jars of gherkins so you have something to eat when you come home. There are plenty this year. Grand Dad sits on the Bench by the door, , well I must close now wishing you all the best from your Mother
