Russia Jan. 7th 1942
Dear Erich, Werner and Lina.
At last today I have the time to write a few lines to you. I arrived here on Monday and I was surprised to hear that we were going to Russia on Sunday . Well, we can not do anything about that, I am well and I expect the same from you too. I had the feeling that we would not stay much longer here, the good times are gone now, and who knows, when or even whether we will see each other again. We only can hope and pray. How is Artur? Have you heard from him? When I got here a letter had arrived from him, but I have had no time to answer that. I will not be able to receive mail from you now as we are moving out. Maybe we stay a few days somewhere but writing to me now is pointless until I send you a FP #.
For now that is all and let us hope of a reunion soon.
Greetings Artur.
