Dear Parents

Sending you Greetings from here, I hope all is well at home ., I am in good shape too. Today I got your letter from February 26th. Several Comrades have now gone and those are the ones that will not be going to the front.

From our 16 men 10 are still here. I am still together with Hans and it looks like we stay together. We have bad weather and storms. The sand is blowing like in Africa, ,last we had a Sharpshooters test, I made 11 rings , but the carbines are not very accurate. I had a letter from one of my Comrades that went away already and he is in Eger. Today I mailed a parcel to you, and I send Socks, Gloves, Watch, Cigars , Shaving brush etc. My old watch is still going.

Greetings to you Your Werner
