Dear Parents.
Greetings from here and I hope all is well at home. Today I got parcels # 16 & 17 and letter #9 also 2 parcels from Udestedt. Thank you very much, now to your letter, I am satisfied with the watch, it has cost me 30 Marks. We had 2 parcel stamps so far and I mailed them to you. Today was a good day, we received a liter of red wine, cost 5 Marks, I do not know whether I can get Cocoa and Pepper here, but I will try. Have you mailed the dictionary now ? You can send me some money too, everything is expensive here. Yes, it was about time that Bruno Müller was drafted, lets hope he does not come back. I can not understand that you have such a big rat problem at home.where did all come from?I have not received the air mail stamps from Artur, we have a lot to do here, building trenches and Flak positions, and the ground is stone mostly. We do not know how long we have to be here, the Infantry that is here is born 1924. Can you get me Walter Kastners address please ? Here in town is also a Military hospital. How do things look at home? We have heard that things are not to good at home.
I will close now and send Greetings from far away.
Your Werner.
