Dear Brother in law.

Time to write to you once again, and thank you for the 3 parcels, but please send the Cigarettes to Artur, I don’t smoke much now. Artur had written to me on May 31* and according to his letter, he is in a quiet area and he said he is very well, I myself are with the supply battalion at the moment and far from the front. I am sitting here doing nothing and do not know , how to pass the time . I do not want to think of home and all the work that has to be done there. I can imagine what a job it is to get on with these Prisoners of war working at the farm. Let us hope that idiotic war soon will come to an end. I suppose you at home are like us here, we all had enough of it and want to go home. That is all the news from here, let us hope for a speedy end and reunion.

Artur.
