Dear Brother in Law!
Today I got your card from July 26th and thank you very much, and I see that you are all well, same as me. So you almost done with the potatoes, here we have the most beautiful weather. I wrote to you that we were placed a lot nearer the front and we receive plenty of fire from Iwan, the old place was much better. It seems we are always the unlucky ones to get into section of the front that is more dangerous. I hope we get out of it again, Werner has written but not Artur, maybe he has no opportunity to write I know how it is with writing. In this section here we have no peace, we work hard to get cover and trenches for several days , we can not show our heads , or we draw fire from Sharpshooters. So for now I will close and send you Greetings.
Your Artur
