Dear Parents.
Sending you Greetings from here, hope that you are well, yesterday I got two newspapers from you. I am always glad to receive mail from home. The cold weather has arrived here, and there was hard frost about. In the fields everything has frozen now, that’s how cold it is here. At home it is not like that until November. How is your weather? I hope it is good so you can get the beet harvest done. Have you started on the potatoes? Who helped you with all the trashing ? We are here in a very bad corner and hope that we get out of here soon, Everyone wants to fight in the West so lets hope the war will be over soon. How is the war mood at home? So I don’t know much more, so write me the news from home.
Greetings and lets hope we see each other again.
Werner.
