Kassel Sept 30th 1944

Dear Ketschau Family.

Only today I manage to write to you and let you know that I got home alright. But now I am in Kassel and so far have experienced 2 terrible Bombing raids, that is just about enough for me, Kassel is no more in existence. Now I mention the animal feed, and it is perfectly ok to send that by train. Last Monday Nora too had send me a cwt and it got here ok, and what they can do, you can do too. Send it as an Express item. I will send you the freight certificate and the empty sacks.

Have you heard from Werner? I am poised to go to the front any day now, hope you have managed to lift all the potatoes now. The weather was not to good for that.

Greetings to you and Werner.
