Dear Brother and Sister in Law.
A few days ago I got the letter with the photos of Alwin’s wedding and thank you very much. I had a letter from Alwin recently, I am well and hope the same from you. I am so angry lately, here we sitting on the French Channel coast and twisting our thumbs, and out on eastern front is all the action. We guarding empty sand dunes and waiting and watching whether the Tommie’s will come.
But what can we do, we have to that what Adolf orders us to do, nothing else counts. The British are not beaten yet, maybe we will see action one day, just wait and see is our word. How are you in Donaueschingen? Have you got a house now ? It is not nice to live in camp and waiting for a house to live in.
What else is going on in Germany, how is the mood of the people? I hope ok.
I must close now, and send you greetings .
Your Sepp.
