Dear Erich !

Well I have to begin with a note that I have no mail from you and I just hear that Pinch Martin is in Lithuania too and she is waiting to hear from him. Many people are waiting for mail but looking at the situation at the fronts, no wonder no mail gets through. By now there are almost no men left here at home and what is left has been pressed into the Volks Storm. Maybe you have heard about that too. Let us hope that these men will help you to stem the advance of the enemy. My Dear, e all wish that the war will come to an end soon and that we see each other at home again. Ithat is my only hope and I believe in it. Kurt wrote yesterday from Oct 20th, he said he will be going to the front in Holland but Dear Erich, everything is ok at home and I am going for mail again now.

Greetings and Kisses Hilde.
