Dear All at home !
Tot has been 8 days since I wrote last time and iam glad to writeat last again. By the same length I had no mail from you either. We are still on the adavnce, 40 Kilometers each day towards the east it is raining each day and then at nights we have frost.I can not find words for a life like this, soaking wet, then frozen, and no change in clothing , at night we stay in lousy Russian huts, but still better than in Poland. The horses have almost all died now, so whay happens now we wait and see. This suppose to be a food
producing country we all are starving hungry. I have one year as a hungry soldier now behind me, and hungry I am going into the 2nd year. . Who can stay honest here, there is much wheat and Maize to get here, all black from the heavy clay soil. Huge fields with Sugar beets, not harvested yet, the huge tractor plows go almost a foot deep. . I suppose the mail will take longer now don’t forget, we are nearer to Asia than to western Europe I am still well, believe me, just send food that is all, I have not much time to write, because we on the move all the time. Often I am fed up with my life, , I am glad you mailed the pullover now that’s the end again.
Heil to all of you
Heinrich.
