Dear All at Home !

Yesterday I wrote a letter and 3 hours later I got 6 parcels from you with Cookies, Maggi Cubes, Sausage and Fat. Thank you very mych, I can imagine that it is quite a bit of packing to get all these things wrapped up and mail them from the Post Office. Dear Mother, always send plenty of Butter and also Apples or Plums at times. Here we are in the cold season now, but up near Leningrad, where Kurt Oelmann is, it must be much colder . I might not be able to write so often as of now, we still got 200 Kilometers to march yet and then relive other units at the front. We are in Donetz area south from Charkov We were not

participating in the fall of Charkov, we were nearer the Black Sea area. Maybe I meet up with Oelmann here . Today is Sunday and I am reading your letters and the Newspapers you mailed. You reckon the small horse will grow as big as Grand dad’s White one? How was the Fruit harvest? Does the Cutter go better with the new belt? Father is worried about the lack of Tobacco, I only smoke 6 Cigarettes a day , did you get the 100 Marks I mailed and can you send me a map from Russia, out of a school Atlas of mine, Every 10-15 Kilometers we reach a Village and our Horses stay

overnight in Cow sheds. Keep on praying that we will be able to see the back of this country soon. That is all for now so I send you best wishes and Greetings

Heinrich. Greetings to Minna and Dora and all others I know.
